Diné Weaving
This video builds on an earlier one that Gary Witherspoon worked on in the1980s: The Children of ChangingWoman (with David Baxter, Richard Sims, Peter Blystone and the Museum of Northern Arizona), It also extends the work of Glen Peterson and Gary Witherspoon found in their book Dynamic Symmetry and Holistic Asymmetry in Navajo and Western Art and Cosmology. Contemporary weaver Bernita Nez demonstates the process of weaving as a creative art form. Music is composed and played by Gary and Johnny Witherspoon.
