Here color symmetry creates dynamic visual tension, which is also unified and under control.  The sharp contrasts between black and white stripes and red and green diamonds create an exciting vibration.  An additional shimmer is produced by the fine serration of diamond borders and by the slight misalignment of the stripes.  The explosiveness of the entire design is held in check by dark red bands and the occasional interweaving of foreground and background elements.
